White Custom Cole Open Back Banjo
From the Marvin B. Rosenberg Estate, we believe this banjo was built by the modern custom banjo builder Jim White. Mr. White is highly regarded for his W.A. Cole reproductions and historical restorations.
Jim White is a prominent collector and scholar of original Boston-era W.A. Cole banjos, and he apprenticed under banjo master builder Doug Unger.
The W.A. Cole "Eclipse Butterfly" is a rare 5-string banjo from the late 19th and early 20th century, famous for its signature hand-engraved pearl butterfly inlays and innovative half-clad tone ring design.
