2012 Santa Cruz 000-1929 - 12 Fret - Very Good Condition
Santa Cruz has long understood that the late 1920s represent a high-water mark in acoustic guitar construction, and the 000-1929 is their tribute to that period. The 12-fret neck joint, slotted headstock, and vintage-correct appointments are all there, built with the full attention and craft that Santa Cruz brings to every instrument.
This instrument is one of Jim's (co-owner) picks of the litter. "Richard Hoover and his team at Santa Cruz created something special here," Jim says. "You can hear why Tony Rice, Eric Clapton and, of course, Eric Skye own Santa Cruz guitars. This is a blues and fingerstyle dream."
Serial number 4310, built in 2012, this guitar is now well past the new-instrument stage. The Mahogany top, back, and sides have warmed, and the 000-1929 sounds today the way great 12-fret guitars sound when they have settled in: rich, balanced, and deeply musical. It is an ideal fingerpicking guitar, a strong recorder, and a thoughtful nod to the golden era of pre-war acoustic building.
