grez-mendocino-baritone
2026 Grez Mendocino Baritone

Finally, a baritone that doesn't ask you to trade comfort and ergonomics for tone: the Grez Mendocino Baritone. At just 5.75 lbs and a 13.25" overall body length, this semi-hollowbody delivers the big, resonant voice of an acoustic-grade Old Growth Redwood top in a compact, gig-ready frame — perfect for filling the sonic gap between guitar and bass without the floppy strings of a detuned standard. Whether you're chasing heavy riffs, twangy surf tones, or unconventional chord voicings, the longer scale length keeps everything tight and articulate down in B or A.

No longer a curiosity, baritone guitars appear everywhere from Mark Lettieri's "Deep Sessions" to Ariel Posen's work or Phoebe Bridger's hits. Join the artists who have discovered that there is a whole world to explore a fifth or more below E.

Build & Materials

Top: solid Old Growth Redwood, acoustic guitar-grade

Back, Sides & Neck: one-piece Honduran Mahogany

Fretboard: Ebony

Frets: 23 EVO Gold jumbo frets

Finish: nitro

Electronics & Hardware

Pickups: Lollar Goldfoil

Bridge: TonePros AVR2

Tailpiece: Grez Tail Piece

Size & Feel

13.25" semi-hollow body, 1.75" depth

Scale length: 28.5"

Weight: 5.75 lbs — remarkably light and manageable for a baritone

Old-growth redwood top and internal hollow structure combine for a large, resonant sound without the usual baritone bulk

The Details

Includes Reunion Blues Continental case

Handcrafted by Barry Grzebik, Grez Guitars, Petaluma, California

In stock now at Wood & Wire.
